# CADABRA

> CADABRA is the AI CAD Copilot for SOLIDWORKS. Describe a change in plain English and it performs the native feature operations, then generates the drawings and the BOM on your company’s standards. It installs as a SOLIDWORKS add-in, performs real CAD feature operations from natural-language prompts, generates production drawings and BOMs, and rebuilds legacy 2D drawings as parametric models.

CADABRA is made by CADABRA AI Inc., headquartered in San Diego, CA, USA, and backed by NVIDIA Inception and Berkeley SkyDeck. There is no migration: engineers keep their existing SOLIDWORKS license, libraries and title blocks.

- **Text to CAD for SOLIDWORKS** (https://cadabrai.com/text-to-cad/): Natural-language prompts resolved into native SOLIDWORKS feature operations, producing parametric geometry in the feature tree rather than an imported mesh.
- **CAD to drawing generation** (https://cadabrai.com/cad-to-drawing/): Production SOLIDWORKS drawings generated from a part or assembly, with views, sections, dimensions, hole callouts, BOM, title block, and PDF export on the customer’s own standards.
- **Drawing to CAD conversion** (https://cadabrai.com/drawing-to-cad/): Existing 2D drawings read and rebuilt as native, parametric SOLIDWORKS models with a real feature tree, for legacy prints and supplier drawings.
- **Text to drawing** (https://cadabrai.com/text-to-drawing/): A single natural-language instruction that produces a finished, dimensioned engineering drawing on the customer’s title block, exported to PDF.
- **BOM generation** (https://cadabrai.com/bom-generator/): Bills of materials built from SOLIDWORKS assembly structure in the customer’s column format, ballooned on the drawing and consistent with the model.
- **Five modes:** Ask (read-only questions), Plan (a build plan without touching the model), Agent (performs the change), Drawings (produces documentation), Debug (diagnoses rebuild and sketch errors). Ask is available on every plan; Plan, Agent and Debug come with any paid plan; Drawings is separate again.
- **Models:** GPT-5.6 Luna and Claude Sonnet 5 on every plan; GPT-5.6 Terra from Student; GPT-5.6 Sol and Claude Opus 5 from Professional. The GPT-5.6 line are the tier defaults; the Claude models are opt-in from Settings.
- **Fastener insertion:** standard fasteners placed from a named company part, SOLIDWORKS Toolbox, or a generated screw, in that order of preference.

## Security and data handling

- Indexed CAD content is filtered to the account that wrote it.
- On Free, Student, and Professional, your content may be used to improve and train CADABRA’s models by default. One setting in the dashboard turns that off.
- On Enterprise, zero-retention handling is configured as part of the agreement.
- CAD data is encrypted in transit. Chats, attachments, standards files and feedback are encrypted at rest under keys held in a hardware-backed vault, separate from the data.
- At runtime, only the context needed for a given prompt is loaded.
- CADABRA does not sell customer data.
- Single sign-on, role-based access, and a 90-day expiry on operational logs.
